My work has always been in tourism, food and events… always a job which can combine a love of planning, people and food (and many, many checklists!)
Background in hospitality & tourism
I grew up working in a family run guesthouse and in restaurants where I found that I really loved working with people, anticipating guest needs, working at a fast pace and within the rhythm of service.
Events
Qualified in events management I spent 10 years working in luxury hotels in Kerry, co-ordinating events. This practical experience provides invaluable insight when planning an event and working with the venue teams.
Food
I am passionate about food and Irish food in particular. I am one of the team who run Blas na hÉireann. Day to day my work with the awards lets me work with food & drink producers all over Ireland. I love creating the events which celebrate the producers and help them to develop connections in the food network across Ireland.
Working with producers every day is an incredible incentive to make the events the best they can be. The producers are passionate, resourceful, practical and fun which makes my job a pleasure!
I have also studied Irish Food Culture in UCC, the very first course of it's kind in Ireland.

For 16 years I have worked on a project basis on events which include;
- Special group travel & events to the Dingle Peninsula
- Trade events & showcases
- Networking events, planning & delivery
- Wedding planning & co-ordination
